EMPLOYMENT AND EXPERIENCE
(address/contact details available on request)

9th May 2011 - Present:  Attendance Officer, Victoria College Nottingham
Directly assisting the Attendance Manager and reporting to the Administration Manager, my role revolves around day-to-day issues of attendance in a College over over one thousand students.

The primarily involves producing, distributing, collecting and inputting daily student registers, liaising regularly with tutors and College management, chasing up non-attending students by email, phone and letter, compiling attendance reports for College management and the UK Boarder Agency (UKBA) in line with College attendance procedures and dealing either student illness self-certification forms.

The role is varied and interesting, and requires me to be proactive and quick-thinking whilst remaining diligent, professional and meticulous at all times.

2nd April 2011 - 6th May 2011: Census Collector, Office for National Statistics (ONS)
Collecting non-returned 2011 Census forms and helping householders who may have issue in filling their form out

28th October 2010 – 2nd April 2011: Working Freelance from Home
Starting my own coffee import-roasting-resale business, plus some freelance labouring work.

15th June 2009 – 28th October 2010: Consumer Sales Advisor, CPP Group plc
Whilst working in a predominantly inbound sales role as first point of contact for many of the UK's Major Banks' credit card customers, I was also involved in the production of a call-guide/script, alongside the future head of the Chesterfield Centre.

October 2004 – October 2007: Booking Officer, Film Unit Cinema
In my three-year tenure as Bookings officer, first as Junior and then as senior (after 7 months), Film Unit as a whole turned a £3,000/yr loss into a £3,500/yr profit, in part due to cost savings I implemented by researching cheaper film distribution companies

January 2005 – February 2007: Co-ordinator, Marrow
Beginning in September 2003 as a fund-raiser and counsellor for Marrow, I was elected Chair of the committee (named co-ordinator) in 2005. During my time as Co-ordinator, Sheffield Marrow's turnover more than doubled from around £3,000 to £7,000, and our registrations at clinics increased by over 50%.

November 2004 – January 2005: Counsellor, University of Sheffield Self-harm Support
Spotting a gap in the University of Sheffield Union of Students support services, I conducted a little research into self-harm. Discovering that self-harmer are more commonly female, I approached the Union's Women's Officer, and together we set up this service for all ages and genders

August 2004 – March 2005: Agency Worker, Stafforce Recruitment (mostly with Interbrew)
Primarily working for Interbrew (later merged into InBev) working in logistics. Primarily heavy manual work, but also some time spent with office administration.

September 2003 – January 2007: Mentor, Sheffield Outreacch & Access to Medicine Scheme
The aims of SOAMS were primarily to encourage young people from more deprived backgrounds to think about a career in medicine, and then to assist them in the applications process. I feel very proud that the young person whom, I mentored applied, and was accepted, to study Medicine at Sheffield

August 2003 – December 2003: Outbound Telesales, Ant Marketing
Working in a target-driven, primarily outbound sales role on behalf of Singlepoint (now part of Vodafone)

June 2002 – December 2002: Laboratory Assistant (Biochemistry), Stoke Manderville Hospital
Working in a busy hospital biochemistry laboratory, work primarily involved biochemical analysis of bodily fluids, including urine and plasma, primarily to identify pathology, but also to check diabetic patient's HbA1c and recreational drug user's drug levels.
